Ottolenghi Green Harissa is a spicy chilli paste that brings an earthy heat to food. Jalapenos, green peppers and fermented green chillis create a complex heat that doesn’t bite your head off. Loosen with olive oil and drizzle over dips and salads for some spicy acidity. It’s also a delicious way to liven up a cheese toastie! Use it to marinate meat, spoon over fish, stir through beans, swirl into yoghurt.

Although now famous for his fabulous restaurants and cookbooks, Ottolenghi began in a small shop in Notting Hill in 2002. Ottolenghi has developed a style of food which is rooted in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean traditions, but which also draws in diverse influences and ingredients from around the world. He is all about the creation of a meal which is full of colour, flavour, bounty and joy. Smoking, aging, infusing, browning—these are some of the ways he draws out and intensifies flavour.
