The Summer truffle also known as “Truffes de la Saint Jean” is harvested in the heart of Provence, France from mid April to the beginning of August. This jar contains whole truffles sourced by French company, Plantin, who are located close to the two major French truffle markets (Richerenches and Carpentras).
The summer truffle is best when used simply. We love it sliced fresh in a salad, sprinkled with olive oil and coarse salt. It’s also the perfect addition to your fish, meat, game or poultry and, of course, it’s famously brilliant with eggs. It has a slightly subtler flavour than Winter truffle. Avoid heating it too much so that it keeps the most of its heady aroma.
