Product Description
We love these Pitted Taggiasche Ligurian olives in extra virgin olive oil from Italian producer Venturino Bartolomeo. They are preserved in the EVOO along with thyme, bay leaf, rosemary and salt. Delicious! Taggiasche olives are small, tender and have a rich and fruity flavour. They are prized for their olive oil and are a Ligurian delicacy. They’re fabulous to snack on with a drink or on an antipasto platter. Or add them to sauces or salads to impart a beautiful flavour.
Please note: these olives are pitted but it is always possible a pip has been missed.
about the producer
Established in 1945, Frantoio Venturino Bartolomeo is a family business, currently run by Valter Venturino. The oil mill and olive groves are not far from the village of Diano San Pietro and the Riviera di Ponente along the Ligurian coastline. The area near Riviera di Ponente has been renowned for the production of taggiasche olives since the 14th century when many years prior to that, the species had been developed by Benedictine monks in the town of Taggia.
Aside from olives, Venturino also produce a wonderful range of sauces using flavours that are typical of Ligurian cuisine.
