The reason I put 3 stars because when I buy Le Creuset product I expect the product to be Made in France, not in China. In description of the waiters friend on your website there was no mention where it is made.

Thanks for the feedback Ewa. All of the Le Creuset wine accessories are manufactured in China. They’re all brilliant quality and come with the Le Creuset guarantee.

Brilliant. Classy. Stylish. The other wait staff definitely showing signs of wine knife envy. Took a few bottles to get used to the pressure to cut the foil in 3 cuts. In 3 weeks I have opened about 30 bottles ranging in price from $50 up to a $2250 2014 Armand Rousseau Clos de Beze Grand Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin, Cote de Nuits (Red Burgundy). Looks impressive to place the wine knife on the white linen table cloth after removing the cork for the customers inspection. If you were removing a lot of harder Italian style corks you may snap the corkscrew as it torques on the initial twist into the cork. But for any decent French or high-end Australian corks that are generally softer I don’t think this will be an issue. Very good weight and balance when you are rotating the screw into the cork and it captures the guests attention in the process. The lever system is very well engineered as the first step lever slides back before you engage the final step leaving no edge to catch the cork upon extraction. I think I have found a new toy I would like to collect along with my motorbikes, surfboards, scarves and beanies. For the price it is remarkable value. My tip would be to any prospective purchasers; if you are working in a restaurant and a colleague asks to borrow your Le Cruesset Wine Knife, say No, but I am happy to open the wine for you (and of course shoe off my stylish device. Because if amateurs ( such as the above reviewer) were to attempt the pull they often drag the knife sideways towards themselves instead of going for a vertical extraction. If the cork is forced against the neck of the bottle the screw will bend leaving you with a damaged knife. So never lend them. Bravo Culinary Club!

Easily the best waiters friend I have used. Delightfully ergonomic and practical, plus a beautiful looking object!
