Description
Dried pink peppercorns are not from the pepper vine, but come from a “Schinus” species of tree. These Schinus terebinthifolius peppercorns have a pine-like flavour which resembles Juniper and is different from the true Pink Pepper (Piper nigrum) that is only ever sold in brine. You can use them in combination with white, black or green peppercorns to create a seasoning for steak or fish, mix them into a salad dressing or throw some into your burger mince for a great, subtle peppery hit.
NB: Discolouration of some peppercorns is an unavoidable result of steam sterilisation required by Australian Quarantine on importation.
