Fleur De Sel de Guerande comes from the Atlantic coast of Brittany in the French town of Guerande. It is harvested entirely by hand by workers called ‘Paludiers’ – a practice which has remained largely unchanged for centuries. Only the youngest crystals from the very top layer of the salt ponds are taken by barely skimming the surface – meaning only minute quantities are harvested. Fleur de Sel is a natural unwashed, unrefined and additive free salt from the sea containing 84 minerals and trace elements essential for well-being including magnesium, calcium and potassium. Highly acclaimed, many chefs see this as the best of all sea salts because of its white clean appearance, delicate flavour and moist texture.
