Product Description

Coq au Vin or Chicken in a red wine sauce is a quintessential French dish. Tender and tasty chicken pieces are simmered for a long time in a quality red wine from the Cahors region of France. Like all the Godard specialities, two things standout in this dish: the quality of the meat – and the phenomenal taste of the sauce.

Simply reheat in the oven in a traditional ovenproof dish at 180°C. Serve with steamed potatoes or fresh pasta and perhaps some French green beans.

about the producer

Maison Godard was founded in 1978 by Alain and Michèle Godard in Gourdon, a medieval village inside the Quercy-Périgord region of France. Using only the best produce  from the region they became renowned for the supreme quality of their foie gras, specialities with foie gras, confits, pâtés and ready made-meals. Later their children Pascal and Annabel joined the business to continue the tradition of quality and authenticity that the family is famous for.

Topping: 47% rooster from France, pork belly from France, carrots.
Sauce: Cahors red wine 35%, duck broth, onion (water, duck carcass, carrots, turnips, leeks, cloves), onion, pork blood, wheat flour, duck fat, white stock (celery, eggs), salt , corn flour, modified starch, garlic, parsley, sugar, spices.
