This gorgeous Chocolate and Hazelnut Spread – Nocciolata – is produced by Italian producer Rigoni di Asiago from 100% certified organic farming. The processing is so gentle it takes a day to complete. The result is a soft and fragrant blend of dark chocolate, hazelnuts (16%) brown sugar, skim milk powder, cocoa butter and sunflower oil. It contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and is Gluten Free and Kosher certified. It’s simply delicious.
Chocolate and hazelnut is one of the great flavour combinations to come out of Italy. It was created in Turin at the turn of the 18th century when cocoa became scarce and local chocolatiers would extend their chocolate using a paste made from local tondo gentile hazelnuts.

Asiago is one of seven towns on the Altopiano di Asiago (Asiago Plateau), in the foothills of the Alps, in the far northern reaches of the Veneto region in Italy. During World War I, Elisa Antonini was in Asiago alone with nine children. She established a bookbinding business, with bee keeping and jam making as a sideline. Today, the Rigoni family still lives and works in the Asiago hills and four of her grandsons continue the family tradition of producing exquisite honeys, jams and spreads. Respect for tradition and artisan production techniques ensure that Rigoni’s products are still produced to the most exacting quality standards.
