The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly caused unprecedented disruption for people, families and businesses around the world. We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well and weathering the current situation with good health and a positive outlook.
This update provides information on how The Culinary Club is currently operating. We will update it frequently.
Handling your order
Regular hand sanitisation is undertaken during the process of picking and packing your order which is only handled by one person. None of us are in a high-risk group for COVID-19 – we haven’t travelled overseas recently, nor have we knowingly come into contact with people who have. We are maintaining strictly limited interactions with others and are practising social distancing at all times. So far, this is working and we’re fortunate to be in good health.
We are currently meeting our objective is to dispatch orders placed before 12 noon (Melbourne time) the same business day, otherwise next business day if the order is placed after 12 noon or on the weekend.
We will continue to process orders for as long as we remain healthy (hopefully for a very long time!) or unless we are prevented from venturing out to complete your order by Government regulations. If any such event happens, we will let you know and we will refund any orders that we are unable to complete in a reasonable time as a consequence.
Delivering your order
We use Australia Post for most deliveries, but have commenced using other courier services – Couriers Please and Fastway Couriers – to broaden our ability to get your parcel to you as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our couriers advise that delays to normal delivery times are occurring. Australia Post advises that deliveries may take 5 days more than the expected delivery date shown in your parcel tracking advice. Deliveries to WA are currently taking up to 15 working days. They are currently experiencing significant delivery delays due to limited flights, social distancing requirements (especially for parcel centre workers) and significantly increased parcel volumes. These issues are affecting all courier companies. All courier companies are practising careful transaction protocols to minimise the risk to their staff and you. This includes social distancing, removing the need for a signature and parcels being left in a safe place if possible to do so.
We still have good stock levels of most products. Some specialised French pantry ingredients are out of stock as we await new stock from France. It may be 3-4 months before this stock arrives due to shutdowns of production facilities in that country. Some of our Spanish products from the Basque region will be affected by a complete lockdown of regional borders there. Some of our Italian pasta and pasta sauce products are low in stock but we expect more stock to arrive in June.
As some of our suppliers primarily service the restaurant industry, which has completely dried up, they have significantly cut back on operating hours and staff resulting in longer-than-normal supply times. We are working with them to increase our own stock levels but some items may take a little longer than normal to replenish if out of stock.
If a product is out of stock please use the Waitlist feature. You will be notified by email when that item is back in stock.
Please take care and be safe! We will continue to get your orders delivered promptly and to update you if things change at this end.
