The COVID-19 pandemic has continues to cause unprecedented disruption for people, families and businesses around the world. We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are emerging from this episode with good health and a positive outlook.
This update provides information on how The Culinary Club is currently operating. We will update it frequently.
Handling your order
We are currently meeting our objective to dispatch orders placed before 12 noon (Melbourne time) the same business day, otherwise next business day if the order is placed after 12 noon or on the weekend. As Christmas approaches it may take an extra day to dispatch your order if we are extremely busy.
Delivering your order
We use Australia Post for most deliveries, but from time to time use other courier services – Couriers Please and Fastway Couriers – to broaden our ability to get your parcel to you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Our courier companies suggest that an extra few days to normal transit times should be allowed in the current environment. Express Post parcel delivery has improved and many parcels are being delivered next business day to covered postcodes (if ordered before 12 noon). However you should expect that it may take an extra day or more in the current environment.
This link provides updates from AusPost on their service levels and is updated regularly https://auspost.com.au/about-us/news-media/important-updates/coronavirus#domestic
All courier companies are practising careful transaction protocols to minimise the risk to their staff and you. This includes social distancing, removing the need for a signature and parcels being left in a safe place if possible to do so.
We have good stock levels of most products but there are some disruptions:
French Pantry Products – Some of our French pantry ingredients are out of stock as we await new stock from France. This includes our Bisques. It may be several months before this stock arrives due to shutdowns of production facilities in France over the past few months. Some deliveries have recently been received and we have replenished stocks of some out-of-stock items.
French Laguiole Cutlery – We are out of stock of a number of items, as are all other retailers. We have just received a large shipment of a number of items that have been out of stock for a little while. More stock is on the way for other items with delivery for most expected in February. Use the Waitlist to be notified when the item is back in stock.
Spanish Pantry Products – Some of our Spanish products from the Basque region will be affected by a complete lockdown of regional borders there. This applies particularly to our Guindilla peppers and other vegetables. It may be some months before we receive new stock.
Bonilla a la Vista Chips – we recently received a delivery of the chips in the tin but we only received half of our ordered quantity and these were all snapped up very quickly. Sorry! We are awaiting another delivery but it may be late February or March before they arrive. Stocks of the 300g and 150g packs are good.
Cuca Sardines – we have just stocked out of the Sardines in Olive Oil with the next shipment not due until February due to COVID-19 impacts on production in Spain and shipping. A few other products are low in stock. We have ample stocks of the Sardines in Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Italian Pantry Products – We have recently received a delivery of Italian products but a few specialty items are still in short supply. More shipments are expected over the next couple of months. Use the Waitlist to be notified.
If a product is out of stock please use the Waitlist feature. You will be notified by email when that item is back in stock.
Please take care and be safe! We will continue to do our utmost to get your orders delivered promptly.
And finally, thank you so much for your support.
